In my health coaching practice, I've met many people who have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and were completely bewildered and frustrated: how had it developed and what could they do about it? In most cases, they were told by their GP to wait until the thyroid deteriorated to a state where they could then be prescribed replacement thyroid hormone and supplemental iodine. They would need to take that for the rest of their lives.

There are alternatives to that scenario – ones that focus on dealing with the causes of Hashimoto's and not just treating the symptoms. 

The onset of Hashimoto's thyroiditis can be triggered by any number of external factors which means that each person's condition is unique - there is no one-size-fits-all answer.  

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected.
